nomado, hassle free visas for remote workers

a nomad visa app that helps remote workers and freelancers find where they can live and work, based on their income.

2025

context

post-covid there are drastic changes in the work patterns of people, and emerging remote work has given employees the freedom to work from anywhere rather than just home. nomado gives remote workers the opportunity to work from anywhere with hassle free visa processes.

problem statement

indian remote workers often travel overseas for work on business visas, but what if they want to stay at a certain place for a longer period?

competitor analysis

i looked at how existing products help remote workers figure out where they can go and how to get there legally.

  1. nomad list is great for discovering cities by cost of living and community, but visa information is shallow and buried, and it is built for browsing on desktop rather than deciding on the go.
  2. atlys and ivisa are built around applying for short term travel visas. they handle paperwork well but do not answer the earlier question of where you can actually go on your income as a remote worker.
  3. government portals hold the source of truth but every country presents requirements differently, and comparing income thresholds across countries means dozens of tabs.
  4. the gap: no product starts from the person, their income and their passport, and works backwards to the countries they qualify for. nomado leads with that.

final designs

the full journey: a warm onboarding that asks your name, home country and monthly income, an explore feed that shows which nomad visas you qualify for with cost of living at a glance, a country page with the requirements checklist, and a clean handoff to the official government portal. favourites, compare and profile round out the app.
